In World War II 200 subs of the US Navy went out. 52 didn't come back by the end of the war. Submariners have been largely unsung and unappreciated, in comparison with the more publicity oriented special forces. Both types are dedicated, incredibly brave warriors, but let's give a thought once in a while to the members of the "silent" service.
