This ad obviously portrays a Beta Type Male or a "Gay Blade" because only those type of "men" (and I use the term "men" only in the anatomical sense when it applies to those types), would obsess over a pair of loafers for an entire day. Even the most die hard female "A" list wannabe wouldn't daydream about a pair of shoes for an entire day...she'd just go out and buy 'em first chance she got. This ad and all it represent are about as masculine as tits on a bull, in my opinion, and certainly does not make me want to buy a pair of Bass Weejuns
When going about in as informal a way as with shorts and no socks I much prefer boat shoes to penny loafers. Much better on dock or a wet deck. Plus if you ones without a heel you can still skate in 'em.
