It reminded me of my student days at St. Andrews in Scotland. It is close to the North Sea and it can be extremely cold during the winter months. Fair Isles sweaters were a great comfort to me and they are indestructible. My fair isle sweaters came from a little boutique (I don't know if it still exists) in Edinburgh called The Clever Shepherd.
I don't know about the colors in that sweater. It looks a little Christmas-y to me.
