Great list to go by! However, I don't completely agree with the Gucci thing. I would wear Gucci horse bit loafers (but that's it, everything else they make is off limits).
Great post, and I always look forward to reading what you say next.
Richard ~ I don't agree with the inclusion of Gucci either. The YFs probably considered it a filthy foreign shoe. The Sloane Rangers, of course, took to the Gucci snaffle loafer in droves and it became a veritable badge of membership, along with the Barbour jacket, IMVHO.
Easy ~ I don't 'get' why cavalry twill is blacklisted here. Maybe the weave was too extravagant for them.
"In every battle the eyes are the first to be conquered..."

"One must work in solitude as a man who opens a clearing in virgin forest, sustained by the unique hope that somewhere in its depths, others are working to the same end."
- Ernst Jünger
"I find that I must go handsomely, whatever it costs me, and the charge will be made up in the fruit it brings."

I was in great shape until I read of the cavalry twills. But then I am no longer young and may now be considered "colourful."
