Just received some J. Press ties, ordered because they were slightly less expensive than the Brooks Brothers equivalents. Terribly disappointed: incredibly flimsy. Might as well be unlined. Where is the world headed?
I stop in the J. Press regularly to browse and there is very, very little I would ever buy in that store. I do like their trousers but their ties, as Anonymous says, are incredibly flimsy. With Brooks and Press gone to the dogs, I have been ordering bespoke more from shirtmaker Hemrajani and tiemaker Sam Hober. Much better stuff and cheaper at that.
That's a shame about the ties, what kind did you order? I ordered one of their striped raw silk ties a few months ago and have been perfectly satisfied with its quality - very sturdy!
I realize this is off subject, but do you know or know anyone who might have the J Press promo code. I see two items that are on sale 25% but 70% with the code. If you can help, please let me know.
I absolutely love this. I am a female, but have always been terribly fond of J. Press. This is a bit silly, but I wrote a small post about it here last year: http://raraavisarewe.blogspot.com/2008/04/just-thought.html
I recently visited the Harvard Square J Press store. I was disappointed at the 69$ ties. I thought to myself "I could get something exactly like this for 20$" Plus, they had no short sleeve button up shirts. I bought nothing and left

Ignore my request for the J Press code, it is winter09. Thanks anyway.
