I will be traveling there this summer and I could definitely use some advice of what to visit as well as where to shop and eat and most importantly, drink. Alex Sweet said...: I will be in Cape Town for June and July at the University of Cape Town. Any and all recommendations would be welcome. I think Pretoria would be interesting, but I am in no position to fly there for an idle weekend while classes are in session. However with car rental prices at around $20 a day, anything within a reasonable driving distance would be fabulous. I've been thinking about seeing the Wine Country as well as many of the beach towns along the Western Cape, but I would really appreciate the advice of someone who has been there previously.

In any event, anything from bars to restaurants, or from safaris to clothiers, whatever your prior experience has been!
