Glad you got to go out on tour...

Beautiful. I hope that besides fishing you took time to swim in the lovely Sea of Cortez.
I'm ready for another Baja beach vacation, but somewhere away from Cabo, maybe Lorado or La Paz. Any suggestions?

Belle Div BeVoe ~ I would suggest:

(1) Loreto, the historical town north of La Paz on the Sea of Cortez, founded by the Jesuits and historic capital of Spanish California. Relaxed, quiet, excellent fishing and diving/snorkeling.

(2) Todos Santos, on the Pacific coast, northwest of Cabo. An artist's colony, it entertains a population of artisans, craftsmen, hippies, drop-outs, and assorted creative types. I think the Eagles' 'Hotel California' is located somewhere near here. Not really my scene, but there is good surfing at nearby Pescadero beach.

(3) Los Barriles/East Cape, between Cabo and La Paz, on the East Cape of Baja. The ranchos and resorts of the East Cape became popular with the Hollywood crowd in the 1950s-1960s. Excellent fishing, windsurfing, snorkeling, diving nearby. The town of Los Barriles has a growing American expat community. For years we have been going to the fishing/diving resort of rancho Hotel Buena Vista, next door to Los Barriles:

Did I mention the fishing is EXCELLENT on the East Cape?

You are definitely my favorite Young Fogey. Thanks for the Baja info. I'll skip Todos Santos and the Pacific. Loreto or Los Barilles with the soft Sea of Cortez will be my next Baja Destination.
