I used to see plenty of older, well-dressed chaps riding the Tube to the City. They also used the number 14 bus from Piccadilly to South Ken (and beyond).

Yes he does! Its absolute fun from time to time. A gentleman is an adventurer too, and it really is an adventure to ride the London-Underground. ;)

The Madison Avenue buses in New York are crowded with ladies and gentlemen. Not to be found on the subway, however.
