That's what happens when things like surf leashes become necessities. No one swims anymore, some body surfers even leash their fins to their ankles.Fortunately, not all good spots have a parking lot attached and are beyond the exertion horizon of many of today's " surfers".
"some body surfers even leash their fins to their ankles"
Fin savers will save your life in heavy surf and have been around for as long as I remember. We used to use shoelaces to tie our fins to our ankles in the 1950's. Not every break is like the kiddie pool and the turbulence in a double-O impact zone can rip the fins right off your feet.
"In every battle the eyes are the first to be conquered..."
- Tacitus, Germania
"One must work in solitude as a man who opens a clearing in virgin forest, sustained by the unique hope that somewhere in its depths, others are working to the same end."
- Ernst Jünger
"I find that I must go handsomely, whatever it costs me, and the charge will be made up in the fruit it brings."
