Mountain Excursion Group: Ascending and Descending

Training hard in the foothills above my home. An aggressive assault on the peaks, and then a steady withdrawal through the valley of the winds. A trek to the top, I find, always clears my mind; getting away from Azania enables me to refresh my perspective and begin anew. We live in an increasingly dangerous, inverted world and it is imperative we rise above it. Civilised human values are most often reasserted either in solitude or in the company of loved ones and like-minded comrades. In these hills are mountain lions, coyotes, bobcats, raptors, songbirds, and various reptile species. In the photo at bottom I am wearing a Thor Steinar shirt, khaki hiking shorts, and black New Balance trekking shoes.

The third photo reminds me of Bodie.

Nietzsche, too, climbed the peaks.

Sehr gut- steel yourself for the impending apocalypse! (fun looking company, that T.S., I like their Asgard-'team'-shirt, and they even have one with Sleipnir).

Is that the Crystal Cove trail? I used to hike/run it alone, a decade or so ago before they built all those houses. I've seen bobcats and giant rattlesnakes on that trail...not to mention some creepy people. Be careful up there.

Fantastic! The value of physical exercise and performance can not be overestimated. You might be the only TS wearing american though.

I miss the days where a switchback trail emptied out right at my front door.
College classes in the morning, a direct frontal assault on a Wasatch peak every afternoon.
I had calves like an oak tree, lungs like steel, and a mind as clear as.... why are bells cited as clear? Crystals arent really all that clear.. but any way you slice the cliche', I miss the mountains.

I am looking forward to going under the knife so that I may climb the peaks again. I use to climb Old Rag Mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

sounds like fun. and congrats on living in the US, because over here in germany you may take the risk of getting in serious fights with antifa-leftists because of wearing a T-shirt by thor steinar. You might as well get in legal trouble because of it. But it is ok to wear Mao, Stalin or Che Guevarra shirts. ;) What a messed up world.
