I miss the Mercedes from the 1980s and earlier. Today's models are like Japanese cars.

The old colours were better too, especially the non-metallic ones..

What I liked about Mercedes until the 1990s S class that looked like a brick was the slight progression of what one could tell was the same underlying design philosophy. One of the things I like about Porsche is the consistent design of the 911 or Carrera or whatever you want to call it.

I am glad I am not the only one that dislikes both the current line-up of M-B and metallic paint finishes.

Decades ago, the cars of Mercedes-Benz were discreetly handsome, understated and elegant. Now they are the among the flashiest and most ostentatious. They have sadly become the automotive equivalent of a designer tracksuit with trainers.
