Italian Nationalist Style

Gianfranco Fini, president of Alleanza Nazionale (AN) and recently-elected President of the Chamber of Deputies in Italy. Note the tweed sport coat, white dress shirt, solid knit tie, and sunglasses. It does not get much better than this. Perfection. I am currently in consultations with my Turkish tailor to produce an odd jacket in a lightweight district check tweed similar to the one Signor Fini is wearing.

Tweed jackets and suits are my passion. I crave colder weather because it gives me an opportunity to wear my heavy tweeds. I am having a brown donegal Ralph Lauren suit made for this fall. In addition, I chose to make it a double breasted suit with a vest. I have yet to decide the style of vest, and I must call to place the final order soon. Any ideas?

Great photo. Gotta' love the district check tweed jacket and the solid silk tie. Classic.

It's an unusual look for Gianfranco...

I had the chance to meet him once, and felt that he was one of the few serious characters in Italian politics...serious, ruthless, always well-dressed and well-spoken.

Shortly after, he left his wife for a rather vulgar woman, and began wearing solid pink, violet, and fuscia ties! Unforgivable...
