You have good taste. But, Indochine (the film, not the musical group) is too slow and dramatic for my tastes. I prefer scenes of tough colonials gunning down angry natives, and AN provides those in large doses. What can I say? I'm a chap. On another note, watching these movies makes me want to get a colonial linen suit in white or beige.
"In every battle the eyes are the first to be conquered..."
- Tacitus, Germania
"One must work in solitude as a man who opens a clearing in virgin forest, sustained by the unique hope that somewhere in its depths, others are working to the same end."
- Ernst Jünger
"I find that I must go handsomely, whatever it costs me, and the charge will be made up in the fruit it brings."

Great scene. But I prefer the prettier romanticized vision of the French expat position from the movie 'Indochine".
