The question, I suppose, is would we have done that when we were in college, and I suspect the answer would be yes.
I suppose it makes more sense than some of the requirements for graduation. Especially for those attending a school with a "community service" requirement.

I disagree. Roehm was a homosexual street thug. I see the good Admiral more in the mold of Reinhard Heydrich, educated, cultured and elitist, yet a dangerous man, neverthess.

With all due respect, I have experience in das academische Fechten, einschließlich der Schmiss, and I think these guys fight like old ladies.
"Tatort im Ersten," (also a You Tube video), is a better example, even if the bout is theatrical and staged with actors for a German TV series.
