Southwick Houndstooth

A photo of a black and white houndstooth Southwick sport jacket from Culwell & Son. I acquired it during a visit to Dallas in 1996 to see a girlfriend studying at the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. The jacket was one of two significant souvenirs from that trip, the other being a wrecked heart that has long since mended. Young love can be capricious and so my affections quickly moved on, yet the jacket remains. Even today, I can not part with it. I wear it rarely, to be frank, and only rediscovered it last year lurking at the back of my closet like a red-headed stepchild. But when I do, I pair it with a white dress shirt, charcoal flannels, and black Alden tassel loafers. I realise this is an unimaginative look, so I am open to suggestions.

not dull at all.
Maybe mix it up with brown reverse calf shoes, or an interesting pocket that compliments your hair color.
I rather like. Why mess around with a classic look, especially if it's an old friend...

Any possibility of a clearer photo?
Thanks.

Great jacket! I enjoyed the story of failed love as well. At least you acquired a beautiful garment!

Consider wearing a blue dress shirt, purple or pink tie, and khaki trousers. Or, you can stick with the charcoal trousers. Tobacco suede tassel loafers would add to the appeal as well.

I’d like navy gabardine slacks, a pink BB pinpoint BD, and dark brown loafers, either suede or smooth leather, preferably English. Tie optional. TNSIL, contrary to common knowledge, also featured ascots. So if you’d like, add a pale yellow in a typical foulard pattern and a solid navy silk PS. Omit the ascot, and replace PS with a navy paisley.

Going to visit girlfriends is a risky business.

Anyway, I think it's a good look and only boring if you do it every day.

Add a pinstriped shirt or a pink shirt. Try a spotted tie with a dark background or a Prince of Wales check in silvery shades. Just a thought. I used to wear my houndstooth suit (also a Southwick) with a black turtleneck for evenings out. But I was younger then and more mod.
