Absolutely love hussars! While these British boys of the Napoleonic era are natty, I'm especially fond of the Prussian, Austrian, and French varieties from the 18th Century. The Lauzun Legion hussars, in particular, are my favorite.
I've always thought Napoleonic era hussar uniforms were the apex of military fashion. Everything about it broadcasts a rakish sangfroid. The dress uniforms of today which are based off of business suits simply fall short.
"In every battle the eyes are the first to be conquered..."
- Tacitus, Germania
"One must work in solitude as a man who opens a clearing in virgin forest, sustained by the unique hope that somewhere in its depths, others are working to the same end."
- Ernst Jünger
"I find that I must go handsomely, whatever it costs me, and the charge will be made up in the fruit it brings."
