Reynard???
Isn't that THE Reynard (French: Renart; German: Reineke; Dutch: Reinaert) is a literary cycle of allegorical French, Dutch, English, and German fables largely concerned with Reynard, an anthropomorphic red fox and trickster figure. (thanks Wiki)
One can see why Reynard would make such a comment.
Well, Reynard, here's one for you "Yoicks and Away!!!" and "View Hallo".
Remember dear Reynard when the dogs run you to ground the Jaegermeister (Hunting Master) cuts your tail off and gives it to the rider first onto the scene of where you were caught.

You are forgetting the barbaric English custom of dipping the tail in blood and anointing the forehead if it is the first riders first kill.
