"Rupert is a white bear who lives with his parents in a house in Nutwood. He is drawn wearing a red jumper and bright yellow checked trousers, with matching yellow scarf. Most of the other characters in the series are anthropomorphic animals (animals with humanoid forms). They are all scaled to be about the same size as Rupert, regardless of species. There are also a few human characters in the stories. Rupert animal friends are usually referred to as his "chums" or "pals". Aside from his best friend Bill Badger, some of the most enduring pals include an elephant (Edward Trunk), a mouse (Willie), Pong-Ping the Pekingese, Algy Pug (who actually predates Rupert[1]), Podgy Pig, and Ming the dragon. The kindly Wise Old Goat also lives in Nutwood, and helps Rupert in some of his adventures."

"One must work in solitude as a man who opens a clearing in virgin forest, sustained by the unique hope that somewhere in its depths, others are working to the same end."
- Ernst Jünger
"I find that I must go handsomely, whatever it costs me, and the charge will be made up in the fruit it brings."

Bill Badger and Podgy look smart.
They most certainly look far better dressed than the vast majority of men today.
For the uninitiated:

Unlike the RL models, the RB models don't look gay.
Those were the days, mon Amiral.
Elegant proportions, great neckwear and good haircuts - my stylish companion will love these looks. Thanks for posting!
Is this where Seth MacFarlane got his Rupert bear for Stewie Griffin on "Family Guy"?
Podgy's suit is very smart - although it's a close run contest between him and Mr Toad for wearing tweed suits.
