Admiral, my father has albums of photographs of this magnificent site from when he worked in Libya in the Seventies. Whenever I look at them all I can think of is helping him seal up carefully opened boxes of Fish Fingers in which he used to smuggle sausages and bacon.
"In every battle the eyes are the first to be conquered..."
- Tacitus, Germania
"One must work in solitude as a man who opens a clearing in virgin forest, sustained by the unique hope that somewhere in its depths, others are working to the same end."
- Ernst Jünger
"I find that I must go handsomely, whatever it costs me, and the charge will be made up in the fruit it brings."

An even more magnificent Libyan sight is the exiled Princess of Libya, Alia Idris al-Senussi. Sensational.
